This is a site that will be worth revisiting for an explore. Unfortunately, on this visit there was a lot of people milling about and a security trailer. Not worth getting into trouble quite yet.....
The building should look familiar to those that have watched the movie "Ladder 49". This is the warehouse that traps the main character and while he awaits his fate, he goes through a series of flashbacks.
Well, the building is clearly still standing. When they were filming the night scenes with fire coming out of many windows, the 911 operators were inundated with calls. The flames could be seen from several major highways and quite a distance all around. It got to the point that the fire department had to go on the local news to tell people it was a movie set and all was well.
