Urban Exploration: Abandoned Train and Steel Plant

Gort awaits our return to the right..........

Bottle or Torpedo car that hauled molten pig iron
One of the few times I will show my mug.

Bottle car is now and armored tree car. Super protection for this little tree....
Another Bottle or Torpedo car. THICK iron and HUGE rivets.
Larger bottle or torpedo car. It hauled molten pig iron in the steel making process.

I grudgingly turned Thirty Eight today. I feel Twenty at most, but time marches on I suppose. After a great breakfast and a wonderful birthday present and gourmet cupcakes. The better half and I went out to do a little urban exploration. I had a perfect site in mind. It not only has the abandoned train above, but a skeleton of a steel plant shown below. The site was used for a TV series for several scenes.

The abandoned train was a great find. The cars date from the 1940s through the 1960s. Most appear to have been unused for quite some time.

Further down the same tracks, there is a skeleton of a steel yard. The concrete frame had a few window frames  and the gantry crane and not much else. No idea when it opened or when it closed down.

Indeed, I have already labeled them as such well before your comment.
